The Super Bowl halftime show and alternative "Turning Point USA" event perfectly exemplified the way MAGA is losing the culture war, one editorial said.

Newsweek's Editorial Board reported Monday that the far right continues to lose as they not only reject popular culture but also outright battle against it.

The Bad Bunny halftime show enraged MAGA supporters, including President Donald Trump. Still, Trump was one of the over 134 million viewers of it over the Kid Rock concert. Rock was able to obtain about 4 percent of the Bad Bunny show.

Newsweek noted that top MAGA leaders faced criticism for trying to embrace the Olympics in Italy despite international outrage over the president's policies.

"Vice President JD Vance was booed at the Winter Olympics opening ceremony, kids on Roblox staged virtual anti-ICE marches and fictional raids and Portland’s inflatable-costumed Frog Brigade leaned into 'tactical frivolity' to lampoon militarized enforcement," the board wrote.

The MAGA crowd is trying to create counter-programming options for the pro-Trump crowd. But it isn't working. Not only are they self-isolating, but they're marginalizing themselves from the larger population.

The board noted that cultural power isn’t about shifting sides. Instead, it’s about moving into new formats that traditional gatekeepers can’t control.
