This Thursday, June 27 in Atlanta, CNN will host the first 2024 debate between President Joe Biden and presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Three days before the debate, on Monday morning, June 24, CNN's Kasie Hunt wanted to discuss the substance of the debate with Trump spokesperson Karoline Leavitt. But Hunt lost patience with Leavitt when she repeatedly attacked the CNN hosts who will moderate the debate, Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, rather than getting into the issues.

Hunt told Leavitt, "I will also say that if you talk to analysts of debates previous, that if you're attacking the moderators, you're usually losing. I want to focus in on what these two men are going to do and say when they stand on the stage…. What do you expect from Joe Biden?"

But rather than getting into specific Biden and Trump policies, Leavitt insisted on continuing to attack Tapper and Bash.

"Well, first of all," Leavitt told Hunt, "it takes someone five minutes to Google Jake Tapper/Donald Trump to see that Jake Tapper has consistently…."

Hunt cut Leavitt off, telling her she wanted to hear about policies — not listen to hear her "attack my colleagues."

When Leavitt continued to talk about Tapper and Bash, Hunt ended the interview — firmly but politely saying, "Caroline, thank you very much for your time. You are welcome to come back at any point. She is welcome to come back and speak about Donald Trump."
