'His proudest achievement': Mitch McConnell hammered for 'hypocrisy' on judiciary nominees
United States Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) is accusing Democrats of attempting to politicize President Joe Biden's judicial nominees by removing and replacing Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-California) from the Judiciary Committee.
Feinstein, whose absence due to shingles has triggered calls for her resignation, has missed more than sixty votes and requested that Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York) assign one of her colleagues to take her place as she recovers and works from her residence. Approval would require sixty ayes to overcome objections by the GOP.
"This means at least 10 Republicans would need to back the measure — a number that appeared out of reach even before McConnell delivered his first public remarks on the issue on Tuesday," The Washington Post noted, adding that "senators are not allowed to vote remotely."

Addressing the Senate, McConnell said:
Some of the same far-left voices who've attacked Senator Feinstein in the past are now suggesting that the Senate move her off the Judiciary Committee indefinitely. Indefinitely. The stated reason? The supposed emergency? Is the Senate Democrats are unable to push through the small fraction of their nominees who are so extreme, so extreme, and so unqualified that they cannot win a single Republican vote in committee. So lemme say it again. The far-left wants the full Senate to move a senator off a committee so they can ram through a small sliver of their nominees who are especially extreme or especially unqualified.
While McConnell is not the only Republican standing in the way of this, his history of manipulating the rules to block appointments during the lame-duck periods of former Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump led to anger and allegations of hypocrisy.
SuzyQL (Not *that* Q): "Wow. That right there is classic hypocrisy."
evie ღ: "You mean like when you RAMMED through a Supreme Court Justice five weeks before an election? You will be remembered as the biggest HYPOCRITE in the Senate @LeaderMcConnell and nothing more."

Phoenix_Ranger_ProdigalSon: "Says the man who: - After arguing previously that placing a new SCOTUS within 100 days of an election, was too close & the voters should decide. - Rammed through one of the most inexperienced SCOTUS Justices in history, within 1 month of a Presidential election. What a hypocrite!"
Andrew Lopez: "2016 GOP: The next President should choose the new Justice! 2020 GOP: The current President should choose the new Justice! 2023 GOP: No President should choose any judge!"
Michael Roche: "Yeah, ya see how he doesn’t remember that when he was leader, this was his proudest achievement."
Pollyanna: "Pot meet kettle."
