Joe Scarborough slams Nikki Haley for pushing 'fact-free garbage' with Trump endorsement

When Nikki Haley suspended her presidential campaign earlier this year, the former South Carolina governor didn't endorse Donald Trump right away — unlike Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy and other former GOP presidential hopefuls who endorsed Trump as soon as they dropped out of the race.
Haley kept a low profile for months, staying silent about the 2024 presidential election. But on Wednesday, May 22, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations finally endorsed Trump — saying that although she still had some disagreements with Trump, she considered him a better choice than President Joe Biden when it came to foreign policy and national security.
Haley said, "Trump has not been perfect on these policies…. But Biden has been a catastrophe. So, I will be voting for Trump."

The next morning on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," host Joe Scarborough slammed Haley as a shameless flip-flopper — noting how biting her criticism of Trump became during the final weeks of her campaign. And the former GOP congressman laid out some reasons why he views Biden as a much better choice for conservatives.
Scarborough told "Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski and their MSNBC colleague John Heilemann "You know, that is one of the most remarkably unmoored from facts description on why you're voting for Donald Trump I've ever heard in my life. I mean, it is mind boggling that somebody who actually claims to know anything about policy would say what she just said. I'm not shocked that she's been cynical; she's been cynical her entire political career. It doesn't shock me she went back to Trump, but you're going to have to do a lot better than that, Nikki…. What is she talking about?"
The Never Trump conservative went on to argue that Biden has been much tougher on Russian President Vladimir Putin than Trump ever was.
Scarborough angrily told Brzezinski and Heilemann, "Hold our enemies to account? Hold our enemies to account? You know, John Heilemann, where do we begin? When we talk about how he lavishes praise on Vladimir Putin…. (Biden is) leading the effort to push back Vladimir Putin, where Donald Trump says, basically: Turn it over, I'm going to end this war in Day One. (Trump) called Putin brilliant for what he did. And yes, he said he has a love affair with Kim Jong-Un, the most ruthless tyrant who wants to nuke the West Coast of the United States of America."

Scarborough continued, "So, hold our enemies to account? That is completely fact-free garbage."
The conservative MSNBC host also said that Trump "loves the tyrants that hate the United States of America to their very core" — whereas Biden "has hemmed in China in the Pacific."
Thursday morning, May 23 on MSNBC's "Way Too Early," host Jonathan Lemire aired a supercut video showing how dramatically Haley's Trump endorsement contrasts with what she had to say about him earlier this year.
Lemire showed a May 22 clip of the endorsement followed by a montage of anti-Trump remarks from Haley. In the supercut, Haley can be seen using words like "unhinged" and "unstable" to describe Trump.
Haley, during her endorsement, expressed confidence that Trump was a better choice than Biden. But the supercut shows her warning that Trump was "unfit" for the White House — and saying that nominating someone who is facing four criminal indictments is a recipe for instability.
