GOP senator slams liberal 'rags' while insisting he didn't have 'brain freeze live on TV'

Sen. John Neely Kennedy (R-La.) once again joined Fox Business host Larry Kudlow's self-titled Fox Business program on Wednesday — one day after he appeared to freeze in the middle of answering a question. And the Bayou State's junior senator
While the Louisiana Republican had joined Kudlow's show toward the tail end of his Tuesday broadcast, the Fox Business host (who was also President Donald Trump's National Economic Council chairman during his first term) invited Kennedy back onto the show as his lead segment Wednesday. And the Daily Beast reported before the two launched into the actual interview, the 73 year-old senator felt compelled to address reports on the incident.
"Some of these rags up here, they’ve got all kinds of stories that I had a brain freeze live on TV, or a stroke, or caught an STD live on television, or something," Kennedy said, with Kudlow noting that there were "technical problems" with the Tuesday segment.

"A lot of lefty media are saying things they shouldn’t say,” Kudlow said in response. “As I understand it, what happened was your IFB [interruptible fold back], your wire broke down, and you had a lot of noise in your year, and you had stopped talking because you couldn’t get anything through.”
Kennedy confirmed that the device he wore in his ear to hear Kudlow's questions was malfunctioning, and that while he was "yapping away" his "earpiece blew up" and "sounded like a 747." The Louisiana senator then said he "just stopped talking, and I didn’t start talking again until I could hear you." He also maintained that he was in good health and could perform "an old man backflip."
"I’m okay. I’m here, I’m back here today," he said. "I’m full of p--- and vinegar."
Kennedy's Tuesday segment followed an interview with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), whose earpiece also appeared to malfunction as he was unable to hear Kudlow's final question.
