Prominent actor who played JD Vance’s 'Mamaw' confused by his transformation

Actress Glenn Close shared with the co-hosts of ABC's The View on Wednesday that she doesn't "know what happened" to Vice President-elect JD Vance over the years.
Appearing on the show to promote her upcoming film Back In Action, according to Entertainment Weekly, co-host "Joy Behar asked Close about portraying Vance's grandmother, Mamaw, in her Academy Award-nominated role in director Ron Howard's Hillbilly Elegy, a 2020 Netflix biopic about Vance's life adapted from the Ohio senator's memoir of the same name."
Close said about her time on set, "For me, with Mamaw, I’d say, ‘How did she walk into a room? How did she sit? How did she smoke? How did she laugh? How did she change the chemistry?"

She continued, "The family was very generous with their time," before Behar chimed in, saying the incoming vice president "had a whole different personality in those days."
Agreeing with Behar, according to The Daily Beast, Close emphasized, “I don’t know what happened" to Vance.
"I think power—power is probably the biggest aphrodisiac," she added.
