Although National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard spent most of her career as a Democrat and sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, she is very much a MAGA Republican these days and often tries to please President Donald Trump by promoting far-right conspiracy theories. Gabbard is now accusing former President Barack Obama of treason — a claim that MSNBC's Joe Scarborough attacked as ludicrous during a scathing rant on the Thursday, July 24 broadcast of "Morning Joe."

Trump's national intelligence director is claiming that Obama's handling of the Russia investigation during the 2016 presidential race was treasonous.

Scarborough turned the "Morning Joe" segment into as a mock game show, ringing a bell and arguing that Gabbard wins a grand prize for sinking to the "lowest expectations."

Scarborough told a panel that included his colleague Jonathan Lemire and Axios' Jim VandeHei, "Tulsi Gabbard, what was that yesterday? Seriously? Talk about playing down to the lowest of low expectations. Tulsi, congratulations — you just did it."

Ringing a bell, the Never Trump conservative added, "Tulsi Gabbard, you are the winner of actually meeting the lowest of low expectations that were laid out for you. But all of this stuff is just leading to chaos, and maybe the president thinks: Hey, let's just throw as much against the wall as we can throw against the wall. But as Karl Rove writes — let's see, it's in Wall Street Journal —there is a political price to conspiracy theories."

Scarborough said of Trump and Gabbard's recent attacks on Obama, "They're making these wild, outrageous claims, and I don't think it helps the president. I know it sure doesn't help the country in the long run."

The MSNBC host hit the bell again, saying, "That underscores where we are….Here on 'Morning Joe,' we ring the bell when Tulsi Gabbard meets her low expectations."
