During a Tuesday interview with Sen. John Neely Kennedy (R-La.), Fox Business host Larry Kudlow abruptly cut away from the senator after he appeared to freeze while answering a question.
The Daily Beast reported that Kennedy's segment with Kudlow went off the rails after Kudlow — who was President Donald Trump's National Economic Council chairman during his first term — asked the Louisiana Republican about the Trump administration's approach to sanctuary cities (typically Democratic-run cities that don't prioritize compliance with federal immigration officials). Kennedy was making a point about how "Jesus loves" immigrants before suddenly freezing and licking his lips.
"I'm sure Jesus loves them, but everybody else — everybody else," the 73 year-old Kennedy said, before silently smiling at the camera.

"More technical problems!" Kudlow said after cutting away. "That was the same mic as we lost with Senator Rand Paul. Awful sorry to hear that, because everybody respects what Senator John Kennedy has to say."
Kennedy's mic was functional prior to his freezing episode, and he was not in the middle of saying anything before Kudlow cut away. During Kudlow's broadcast, Sen. Paul's microphone was also functional, though he was unable to hear Kudlow's final question.
Tuesday's episode marked the latest example of a Senate Republican freezing during public remarks, after Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) famously froze while speaking at the U.S. Capitol then again during a public event in his home state. According to the Beast, Kennedy doesn't even crack the list of the top 10 oldest senators, with the number-one spot belonging to the 91 year-old Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).;
