During a 2023 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) appearance, radio and Fox News host Mark Levin bashed.former President Donald Trump's ex-strategist Steve Bannon for criticizing Fox News — without mentioning his name, Mediate reports.

During an on stage "fireside chat" with his wife, conservative activist, Julie Strauss Levin — Strauss Levin quoted a line from one of her husband's books, saying, "The founders believed, and the conservatives agree in the dignity of the individual that we as human beings have a right to live, live freely, and pursue that which motivates us. Not because man or some government says so, but because these are God-given natural rights."

Levin's reaction to hearing to his own quote somehow quickly led to the couple's discussing how to "fix" Washington.

"Wouldn’t it be nice if we heard here at CPAC at least one damn politician get up and say, I encourage you to support convention of states rather than give you pabulum about, we're going to cut this and we’re going to cut — No, you're not! Because Washington is not going to fix Washington," Levin said.

Referring to Bannon's recent harsh criticism of the right-wing network during his CPAC speech, the The Mark Levin Show host said, "We've had other people come up here and tell you that if we only could get rid of Fox News, everything would be better. Which is ridiculous," said Levin. "You don’t have to agree with everything, but that means you wouldn’t hear Tucker or Pete or Will Cain or Duffy or me or a whole bunch."

Media reports:

As he continued to trash the network’s coverage, demanded Paul Ryan be removed, and told "old man Murdoch" to quit giving "softball" interviews to Trump’s primary opponents, Bannon was repeatedly showered with applause and cheers from the audience.
