Former President Donald Trump authored a "happy new year" message for the world late Saturday night that contained self-serving platitudes, familiar attacks on his political adversaries, as well as a racist swipe toward Ex-United States Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, who is married to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) and whose name Trump misspelled.

Trump wrote in a statement posted to his Twitter imitation app Truth Social:

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of the Radical Left Democrats, Marxist Lunatics, China loving Coco Chow and her Obedient Husband, Mitch, and Clueless RINOS, who are working so hard to DESTROY our once great Country.

Trump continued:

More importantly, HAPPY NEW YEAR to the Incredible, Brave, and Strong American Patriots who Built, Love, and Cherish America. The REAL leaders of our Country will always remain FAITHFUL and LOYAL to you. The USA will be back, Bigger & Better & Stronger than ever before. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

These ramblings stem from what will likely be a rough 2023 for the 76-year-old Floridian.

Trump declared his candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination on November 15th as a tactic for evading the Department of Justice and its pursuit of the numerous legal predicaments in which he is embroiled – from his involvement in the January 6th, 2021 Capitol insurrection, his failed attempt to overturn the 2020 election, his hoarding of top-secret documents that he took from the White House inside his Mar-a-Lago golf club in Palm Beach, Florida, civil and possible criminal tax evasion and suspected fraud – to former Elle journalist E. Jean Carroll, who alleges that Trump raped her in a Manhattan department store in the 1990s and is suing him for defamation of character.

Meanwhile, Twitter users had a field day reacting to Trump's heartfelt, unjoyous tidings.
