'Could be a total disaster': Donald Trump swipes at 'rightfully desperate' CNN ahead of town hall

Former President Donald Trump swiped at CNN on Wednesday just hours ahead of the network's controversial town hall at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire, where Trump will enjoy an exclusive interview attended by hundreds of "sympathetic" voters.
CNN has already received substantial blowback, given the criminal investigations shadowing Trump as well as Tuesday's verdict finding him liable for sexually assaulting and defaming E. Jean Carroll.
But the event is happening as planned — and Trump appears to be relishing in the free attention at CNN's expense.
"Tonight live from the great state of New Hampshire because CNN is rightfully desperate to get those fantastic Trump ratings back. They were ratings like none other, and they want 'em back," Trump said.
CNN "made me a deal I couldn't refuse," Trump boasted. "Could be the beginning of a new and vibrant CNN with no more fake news, or it could be a total disaster for all, including me. Let's see what happens tonight at eight o'clock."
