Christie levels 'coward' Trump for 'eating his well-done hamburger' during the Capitol insurrection

Former New Jersey governor and 2024 Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie tore into Senator Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) and their fellow GOP White House hopefuls on Thursday night for refusing to say that 'coward' ex-President Donald Trump was the catalyst for the January 6th, 2021 insurrection at the United States Capitol.
"What I'm more concerned about is Tim saying that Donald Trump's not responsible for what happened on January 6th. I mean, it's ridiculous," Christie told Fox News. "Let's go through it really quickly. He invited all of those people to come for a rally on the Ellipse on January 6th. He went out there and told them again that the election had been stolen. He urged them to march with him to the Capitol to stop it. Meantime, of course, what he did is what Donald Trump always does — the coward — instead of going with them, he went back to the safety of the White House. And then lastly, sat there in the White House for hours and did nothing while he was watching on tv, eating his well-done hamburger in his dining room as people were damaging the Capitol and injuring innocent people up there."
As for Scott, Christie added, "I'm disappointed in Tim that he won't at least say that Donald Trump's responsible for that. Whether he's criminally accountable or not is something that the courts will decide and the special counsel will decide and he'll have a full ability to defend himself. That's not what I'm talking about. Is he responsible? And Tim should answer that question. Is he responsible for it or isn't he? And that's what people are tired of already in this race, is all these folks, good men like Tim Scott, who are afraid to tell the truth about Donald Trump. I'm in this race 'cause somebody has to."
