In an interview with ABC News This Week, former Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie publicly teased former President Donald Trump for the lack of attendance during his 2023 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) speech, The Daily Beast reports.

The account for "This Week" tweeted, "You saw the scenes at CPAC. That room was half-full…He’s the frontrunner and ahead in the polls. But there are lots of indicators here that he's not what he used to be,” @GovChristie says of former Pres. Trump's campaign events."

This occurred on the same day New Hampshire Republican Governor Chris Sununu said during an episode of Meet the Press Trump would not be the 2024 GOP nominee. He declared, "It's just not going to happen," HuffPost reports.

Christie said, "I don't think the rallies would be nearly as big as they were before. There are lots of indicators here that he's not what he used to be."

He continued, "He measures that [crowd size] as an example of his own power and authority, and I don't think he has it anymore. There are lots of indicators here that he's not what he used to be."

A former Trump campaign staffer, Christie also recently bashed Trump for his "failed record of picking candidates who deny the outcome of the 2020 presidential election."
