Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy doesn't trust the government he works for.
Speaking to Katie Miller with his wife, Rachel Campos-Duffy, the secretary talked about "lie, after lie, after lie" he sees coming from the government.
"And over and over and over again. I mean, this Russia collusion, from Russia collusion to, um, to — to COVID and the lab leak theory and, uh, to vaccines, all of this has just been lie after lie after lie. And I just I — I have a hard time believing the government anymore," he said.
"We don't trust the government," agreed Duffy's wife.
Miller agreed, "I'm still distrustful of the government."
Her husband also works as one of the top advisers in the White House.
Miller went on to ask, "Do you find yourself still — still questioning other, like, Cabinet secretaries when you see something in the news and you're, like, but is that true?"
Duffy agreed, saying that he has many questions, particularly when it comes to things like "Where's our nuclear scientists?"
Democratic strategist Mike Nellis was incensed at the Duffys attack on the government, "You are the government you clowns," he wrote in all-capital letters.
Texan Jared Shult agreed, "You are literally the government."
"They said, without a hint of irony," quipped lawyer John Collins.
One woman similarly asked, "Does ... Sean Duffy know he’s the Secretary of Transportation?"
First Amendment lawyer Ari Cohen commented, "I also do not trust you and think you are liars."
Commentator Tim Hannan agreed, "Yeah we don’t trust you fucking a-holes either."
Scot Ross quipped, "I don’t trust the government that put this can of Axe Body Spray for Frat Loads in charge of the Department of Transportation by a 78-22 vote."
"Lol, why we let people talk like this WHILE they're running the government, I'll never get it. It's like Don Borgino [Bongino] when he realized it was more fun to be a conspiracy theorist than Deputy Director of the FBI. Let them have fun, let other[s] govern and take blame for screw ups," another man asked.
"One of the MAGA talking points is this but I don’t get it. They ARE the government," they asked.
Amusingly, Duffy's wife made it clear on the podcast that her husband was given the Department of Transportation secretary gig only because there were no other options available.
