Retired United States Army Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, who briefly served as former President Donald Trump's national security adviser and twice pleaded guilty to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation over his foreign contacts during the 2016 election, released a video this week begging Trump followers for money to "help change the course of history."

In the half-minute-long spot, Flynn, an outspoken right-wing conspiracy theorist to whom Trump granted clemency for his crimes after losing the White House to President Joe Biden 2020, said that "by supporting the Save Freedom in America campaign, you are helping change the course of history, and I mean it."

Flynn warned that "if we don't, our liberties and freedoms may be lost forever, and that is no joke. It's serious, and we, as I always say, local action equals a national impact. So get involved in your communities like you've never been involved before."

Flynn added that "if you feel as passionately about saving the freedoms we enjoy as many Americans do, as much as I do, I would like to ask you to join our nationwide effort and donate today."

Watch below via Ron Filipkowski:

The "Save Freedom in America" effort that Flynn referenced does not appear to have a website, and Flynn failed to specify where individuals who want to give their money to Trump-backed causes can go to do so. Instead, users are directed to a FundFreely drive, where they can pledge financial solidarity with "defending the following freedoms:"

Election integrity
Medical tyranny
Border security
Defend yourself
Parental freedom
Freedom of religion
Freedom to work

The absence of any additional information led to suspicions on social media that Flynn's charity may be yet another scam.

Something else was noticed too – that the image of the Statue of Liberty which was incorporated into the ad is a replica located in Japan.
