Conservative pundits on Fox News and other right-wing media outlets have long demonized Black Lives Matter and Antifa as sinister anarchist movements with no respect for law and order. Yet when it comes to the January 6th, 2021 insurrection at the United States Capitol, those influential voices have reliably downplayed the day's violence and insisted that the mob that stormed the seat of American democracy consisted of peaceful protesters who were trying to petition their elected officials.

Last Saturday, MSNBC anchor Ayman Mohyeldin shared a mashup.

Here are a few additional examples.

On Thursday, freshman Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) told Laura Ingraham that "it's a slap in their faces and such an insult to think that if you dare go address your grievances with your representatives or actually go and use your First Amendment rights, that you may end up thrown into D.C. Jail."

On Wednesday, June 8th, Tucker Carlson proclaimed that the deadly attack was a "mostly peaceful protest." Hundreds of individuals who participated have been charged with crimes.

On Sunday, June 5th, Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo, as well as House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-California) referred to former President Donald Trump's mob as "honest people."

Trump has personally endorsed numerous dubious claims.

Trump's spokesperson, Liz Harrington, has also pushed the false narrative that Trump's attempted coup was normal behavior.

So have Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin) and Representative Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).

Meanwhile, on Friday, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah revealed that it has had enough. It published a supercut of Carlson, Steve Doocy, Greg Gutfield, Sean Hannity, Ingraham, Senator John Kennedy (R-Louisiana), and others disparaging BLM and Antifa against footage of January 6th.
