‘I’ve had it with this guy’: Matt Gaetz torches Kevin McCarthy amid release of audio recordings

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) isn't pleased with the latest incriminating recordings of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.). The Florida lawmaker's remarks came after audio recordings surfaced of McCarthy's real remarks about the insurrection on the U.S. Capitol; remarks that contradict what he initially claims he said.
On Friday, April 22, Gaetz took to Twitter with scathing remarks about the high-ranking Republican lawmaker. “I’ve had it with this guy,” Gaetz reportedly said on Friday.
“While I was rallying in Wyoming against Liz Cheney…" he tweeted. "Kevin McCarthy was defending Liz Cheney among House Republicans… While Liz Cheney was secretly recording Kevin McCarthy for the New York Times. @GOPLeader – you should have trusted my instincts, not your own.”

Although Gaetz attempted to make a point, Politicus USA's Jason Miciak highlighted the real problem with Gaetz remarks. Apparently, the lawmaker had more of a problem with the fact that McCarthy trusted Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) as opposed to him lying, Miciak noted.
"Forget the 'For the New York Times' part," Miciak wrote. "Any decent and ethical congressperson would tape all their calls whenever legal. If Cheney’s goal was to destroy McCarthy, in the New York Times, she would have released the tapes as they were forming the committee. The tapes come from a book that gathered statements and materials written and recorded in real-time in the days after January 6th. It is possible Cheney forgot she had the recording."
He went on to share what he thinks the real reason is for Gaetz's animosity toward McCarthy.
"The real story is that Gaetz is angry that the truth got out," he explained. "He is not angry that McCarthy lied. Gaetz is angry McCarthy couldn’t maintain his lie, and that Gaetz spoke to the woman who – at the time – was third in command of the House minority and wasn’t 'one of them,' meaning someone who would maintain the other lie, that Trump won the election."
