Politico's Zack Stanton posted:
Still wrapping my brain around a former president even needing to say something like this:

"In a statement Monday night, Trump said, 'I have no idea what a burner phone is, to the best of my knowledge I have never even heard the term.'"— Zack Stanton (@Zack Stanton) 1648552649
Kyle Cheney of Politico noted some of the prominent Republicans Trump was in touch with during that period:

Here are some more reactions:
The same people who believe that there is a massive coverup around Hillary’s emails will be totally fine with 8 hours of missing calls on the day of coup that Trump *totally* didn’t have anything to do with.— Jay Black (@Jay Black) 1648551824
Surprise surprise. The bigger question is how did 70 million plus Americans ever believe this criminal was anything but a criminal?— Bret Ware (@Bret Ware) 1648552009

Due to the late, slow, disastrous approach to pandemia by Trump, USA is a huge graveyard with more than 1000000 coronavirus patient’s deaths.Trump destroyed the economy, cannot respond to racial crisis properly & incited violence against Capitol on January 6 & Defunded NATO! A 7-hour gap in phone calls? Nixon had an 18 1/2 minute gap. Would that make Trump the Grateful Dead to Nixon's Pink Floyd?— David M. Stewart (@David M. Stewart) 1648552796
He certainly crushed the Watergate record of 18 1/2 minutes.— Robert O'Mara (@Robert O'Mara) 1648552830
What does continuously uncovering any of this "evidence" matter if the Dems, the DOJ or whomever else isn't going to prosecute him, his kids and the rest of his co-conspirators?

Convene a grand jury and let's get on with this already.— C.K. Dexter Haven (@C.K. Dexter Haven) 1648552516
The idea some folks want TFG back in 2024 is scarier than the war in Ukraine. Losing our democracy to a sociopath who has already done unknown & reprehensible damage to our country & democracy. He & Jared stole billions. It’s unimaginable people want more.https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/trump-election-results-supporters-twitter-fox-news-b1723791.html?amp …— Empress Rule (@Empress Rule) 1648552481
