Joe Manchin lashes out with profanity at a reporter who asks about his position on Biden's agenda

Although the Build Back Better Act of 2021 has passed in the U.S. House of Representatives, it remains to be seen whether or not it will pass in the U.S. Senate as well. And it's unclear what it will take for President Joe Biden to get two key Democratic swing votes, Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, on board. HuffPost reporter Arthur Delaney interviewed Manchin about the bill this week, and the centrist Democrat became angry and defensive when he got into the bill’s child tax credit.
Delaney, in a Twitter thread, reports that he asked Manchin if it is true that he wants the child tax credit removed from the Build Back Better Act — to which Manchin responded, “I've always been for child tax credits.” Previous reports suggested he opposed extending the funding to families with children, which has dramatically reduced child poverty since it was enacted in the Democrats' American Rescue Plan.
Delaney, however, pressed Manchin for more specifics, and the senator angrily lashed out, saying, “This is bullshit. You’re bullshit.”
The HuffPost reporter explained:
“This is bullshit. You’re bullshit,” Joe Manchin just told me— Arthur Delaney 🇺🇸 (@Arthur Delaney 🇺🇸) 1639590793
Everyone around here is "for" the child tax credit. It's a question of whether you want it to keep paying parents as much as $300 per month.

If the advance monthly payments and extra $1,600 expire at the end of the month, there will still be a $2,000 partially refundable credit— Arthur Delaney 🇺🇸 (@Arthur Delaney 🇺🇸) 1639592017
Earlier in the day, Delaney noted what House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had to say about the child tax credit when he interviewed her:
I asked Nancy Pelosi about a CTC-only bill if BBB can't get done in time -- she said the need to get January's payment out is a useful forcing mechanism.

"We're just still optimistic about BBB passing."— Arthur Delaney 🇺🇸 (@Arthur Delaney 🇺🇸) 1639585738
