Conservative warns that the ‘shadowy’ media ventures of ‘MAGAverse’ can create ‘even more radicalization’

MAGA Republicans spend a lot of time complaining that everyone from CNN, the New York Times and MSNBC to Facebook and Twitter is unfair to them, but those same MAGA Republicans have a long list of outlets that push their disinformation nonstop. Never Trump conservative Tim Miller, this week in one of his Not My Party videos for The Bulwark, stresses that the number of outlets in “MAGAverse” continues to increase and “expand.”
Those MAGA outlets, Miller observes, range from “Twitter copycat” Parler to “YouTube knockoff Rumble” to former President Donald Trump’s Truth Social — which Miller describes as “yet another Twitter knockoff.”
“Republican Congressman Devin Nunes is even quitting his job to go work for Truth Social,” Miller notes in his video. “Why is all this happening? Well, there’s a demand in the marketplace. Trump voters crave the content that the big platforms have recently been cracking down on…. All this is popping up while the tech censors and D.C. regulators are playing a losing game of whack-a-mole and missing the unintended consequences. The pesky trolls will always find new rocks to crawl under, and the rodents multiply in the shadows.”
Miller goes on to warn that as ridiculous as much of the content is on these MAGA outlets, that doesn’t mean that it
doesn’t have real-life consequences — for example, the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol Building and Trumpsters who reject COVID-19 vaccines and are “dying unnecessarily because of misinformation.”
“This is what happens when trolling and grievance peddling can make you a celebrity,” Miller warns. “When it becomes the basis for political campaigns. When spreading this bile is big business with billion-dollar market caps. And as the MAGAverse continues to expand into a shadowy world all its own, the incentives are aligned for even more real-world radicalization.”
