Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) allies accused Ohio's Republican state Senate of trying to draw the bombastic lawmaker out of his congressional seat.

The Ohio Republican could face Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH) in next year's election if the redistricting map proposed last week gets approved by state legislators, and Jordan's allies think there's a conspiracy afoot, reported Fox News. The news outlet described Jordan's allies as "furious."

"John Boehner tried to draw Mr. Jordan out 10 years ago," said Kevin Eichinger, a spokesperson for the Jordan campaign. "It didn't work then, it won't work now. Mr. Jordan is running for re-election."

Ohio Senate Majority Leader Matt Huffman's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
