‘An even bigger loser than the first time’: CNN host roasts Trump over failed Arizona stunt

For months, former President Donald Trump has been claiming that Cyber Ninjas' audit of the 2020 election results in Maricopa County, Arizona would show that he really won the state. But the people working on the project found an even higher vote count for now-President Joe Biden than the official government vote count. CNN's John Berman responded with a blistering commentary, slamming Trump for refusing to accept reality: Biden won Arizona.
The Cyber Ninjas audit was not an actual government vote recount. Founded in Florida by far-right conspiracy theorist and QAnon supporter Doug Logan, Cyber Ninjas is a private company. However, the Cyber Ninjas audit was ordered by pro-Trump Republicans in the Arizona State Legislature.

During Berman's commentary on CNN's morning show, "New Day" — which he hosts with colleague Brianna Keilar — the Trump critic was obviously frustrated by the fact that Trump continues to claim that he won Arizona when he obviously lost the southwestern state.
"No one has lost the state of Arizona more than Donald Trump," Berman told viewers. "He keeps losing again and again and again even worse than he thought. For months, the former president has claimed that the sham partisan audit in Arizona's Maricopa County would reverse the results and somehow declare him the victor."
Berman continued, "But overnight, a draft report of the so-called, air quotes, 'audit,' by a group calling itself the Cyber Ninjas, found out that not only did Donald Trump lose Arizona, but he lost by even more votes than previously realized. In other words, they found that he was an even bigger loser than the first time around."
Arizona was first called for Biden on Election Night 2020 by the decision desk at right-wing Fox News, much to the dismay of Trump — who demanded a retraction. But Fox News stuck by its reporting. Subsequently, official government recounts confirmed that Biden did, in fact, win Arizona. And as Berman pointed out, the Cyber Ninjas audit was a waste of time.
Berman explained, "Here's the thing: the news here isn't that this proves that Joe Biden was the legitimate winner in Arizona. He already was. It didn't need confirmation or affirmation by the Cyber Ninjas. It was based on sham questions, this audit, and sham concerns."
