'Reminiscing about attempted coups': AOC trolls Ted Cruz's photo with Trump at Mar-a-Lago
When Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) posted a photo of his visit to former President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago luxury golf community, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) wasted no time firing back to mock their meeting.
On Tuesday, May 4, Cruz shared the photo as he tweeted about Trump's intentions regarding the upcoming 2022 primary election."Had a great dinner tonight with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago," Cruz tweeted along with the photo of himself and Trump. "He's in great spirits! We spent the evening talking about working together to re-take the House & Senate in 2022."
The next day, the Democratic lawmaker retweeted Cruz's post with a caption that read, "Nothing like reminiscing about attempted coups over a bouquet of flowers."

Ocasio-Cortez's remarks stem from Trump's attempt to overturn the presidential election and Cruz's following in his footsteps. Even after the angry mob of Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol to hinder the Electoral College's certification of President Joe Biden's election win, Cruz continued to defend Trump.
In fact, he was one of the eight Republican lawmakers who voted against the certification of the presidential election as he upheld Trump's unfounded claims of voter fraud in the battleground states where he lost.
Charlie Sykes also retweeted Cruz's post with a caption that read, "In case your cringes haven't cringed yet this morning."
