After taking what one can only assume to be a long weekend, Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AL) on Monday afternoon finally responded to President Donald Trump’s racist tweets targeting minority Democratic congresswomen, including Reps. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN).


In typical fashion, both Republicans issued lukewarm condemnation of the president’s tweets, in which Trump implored Democratic congresswomen of color to “go back” to where they “came” from and stop “telling the people of the United States” how “our government is to be run.”

Trump later told reporters he believes the congresswomen have love “for enemies like al Qaeda” and are anti-Semitic.
