John Byrne is the founder, CEO and owner of Raw Story Media, which publishes Raw Story. He served as the site’s initial writer, editor and publisher until 2010. Prior to Raw Story, he attended Oberlin College and wrote for the Boston Globe and McClatchy Newspapers. He is also the founder and Executive Director of Prevention305, a Florida nonprofit focused on raising awareness of PrEP, the daily HIV prevention pill, and the owner of AlterNet Media, which publishes AlterNet.org and TheNewCivilRightsMovement.com.
