Here’s why Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are ‘more dangerous than the president’: investigative journalist

President Donald Trump isn’t the only member of the Trump family who has been the subject of an unfavorable book. In her new book “Kushner, Inc.: Greed. Ambition. Corruption. The Extraordinary Story of Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump,” British journalist Vicky Ward turns her attention to the president’s daughter and son-in-law. And Ward discussed her book during a Tuesday appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has been quick to attack “Kushner, Inc.,” denouncing it as “a book based on shady anonymous sources and false information.” But Ward told “Morning Joe” host Mika Brzezinski that it is “absolutely not true” that all of her book’s sources are anonymous, and she noted that the book’s on-the-record sources range from GOP operative Mark Carallo to attorney Alan R. Hammer (who spent three years as CEO of Kushner Companies).

Ward described Kushner’s influence on U.S. foreign policy as “horrific,” pointing out that former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson “found Jared Kushner irritating for the first six months of the administration.”

On “Morning Joe,” Ward strongly disagreed with the claim that Ivanka Trump has been a moderating influence on her father. Ward, who has lived in New York City since 1997, said of Ivanka Trump and Kushner, “I think these two people are particularly dangerous, perhaps more dangerous than the president, because the president is—for all his peccadillos—in plain sight other than, obviously, his tax returns and maybe a few other things. Jared and Ivanka are kind of in disguise.”

Ward added that the “protocols” of U.S. foreign policy have suffered “danger and havoc” and been “undone” thanks to “Jared’s really dangerous freelancing. It’s going to take years to fix it.”
