BLM Activist Who Took Down Confederate Flag on TV Was Shot and Killed While Riding Bike

News & Politics

A Black Lives Matter leader from Charleston, North Carolina, died Tuesday after he was shot in New Orleans, Live News 5 reports.

Camille Weaver said her uncle, 32-year-old Muhiyidin d’Baha, also known as Moye, was killed Tuesday morning after he was shot in the thigh while riding his bike. New Orleans Police Department officials told reporters “the incident is the subject of an active and ongoing investigation."

“We are lost right now,” Moye’s sister Kimberli Duncan said. ”But we are going to find our way.”

Moye was arrested last February after he was caught on live TV grabbing a Confederate flag in protest.
