SNL's Kate McKinnon Lambastes Jeff Sessions' Russia Scandal

"Saturday Night Live" returned this week with comedian Kate McKinnon's chuckle-inducing impression of Attorney General Jeff Sessions framed by Forrest Gump. Though somewhat tamer than recent SNL scathing cold opens, McKinnon and host Octavia Spencer pulled off a few winning jokes.

Playing a hybrid of Jeff Sessions and Forrest Gump, McKinnon offends a bus stop seatmate (Leslie Jones) with casual racism. "I always say, life is like a box of chocolates. Sure are a lot of brown ones in there," says McKinnon.

Other gems include when McKinnon highlights the lies about Russian ties that led Sessions to recuse himself. McKinnon brags, "I was on the cover of the New York Times."

"This says you might have committed perjury," replies new seatmate Kyle Mooney when handed the newspaper.

For the Forrest-faithful fan, there may be disappointment from a messy setup of Kellyanne Conway as both Lieutenant Dan ("She ain't got no legs," as it appears in the much-hyped photo of her kneeling on a couch in the White House) and Jenny ("We're about as close as peas and carrots").

But Academy Award-winner Octavia Spencer saves the scene in a hilarious movie-bending surprise at the end.
