Arnold Schwarzenegger Issues the Perfect Response to Trump's Bizarre 'Prayers' at Prayer Breakfast
Despite being president, Donald Trump can't seem to let go of his reality show ways, which he's proving to America in truly bizarre ways. While Trump remains executive producer of the "Celebrity Apprentice," he's perpetuated a feud with new host of the show, Arnold Schwarzenegger, for nearly a month.
"Wow, the ratings are in and Arnold Schwarzenegger got 'swamped' (or destroyed) by comparison to the ratings machine, DJT," Trump tweeted on January 6. "So much for being a movie star—and that was season 1 compared to season 14. Now compare him to my season 1. But who cares, he supported Kasich & Hillary."
Why was Trump starting petty fights with celebrities three weeks before taking office, Schwarzenegger wondered, although the answer seems fairly evident. The new host then threw some glorious shade back.
"I wish you the best of luck and I hope you'll work for ALL of the American people as aggressively as you worked for your ratings," he quipped in response.
Now, weeks later, Trump is back to critiquing Schwarzenegger's performance—this time, bizarrely, at the National Prayer Breakfast.
"When I ran for president, I had to leave the show. That's when I knew for sure I was doing it. And they hired a big, big movie star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to take my place. And we know how that turned out," Trump said, with regards to Schwarzenegger taking over "Celebrity Apprentice."
He then asked the roomful of lawmakers, foreign dignitaries and religious leaders to pray for the new host.
"The ratings went right down the tubes. It's been a total disaster. And Mark [Burnett, the producer] will never bet against Trump again," Trump continued. "And I want to just pray for Arnold if we can, for those ratings."
Fortunately, Schwarzenegger came up with a plan that the majority of Americans will be happy with.
"Hey, Donald. I have a great idea," he said in a video response to Trump's comment. "Why don't we switch jobs? You take over TV, because you're such an expert in ratings. And I take over your job, so that people can finally sleep comfortably again."
