Michael Douglas, Alec Baldwin and Tony Goldwyn Join Brave New Film's Gun Control Effort
A handful of well-known celebrities and political leaders have recorded YouTube videos encouraging the public to use a Brave New Films documentary on rampant gun violence to press for new gun control laws across America.
The documentary, Making a Killing: Guns, Greed and the NRAÂ shows how gun manufacturers and dealers and their marketing and sales arm, the National Rifle Association, have twisted and poisoned the political process for profit.
The film and TV stars adding their voices to the call for change include Michael Douglas, Alec Baldwin and Tony Goldwyn. California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom has also championed the film’s message. The videos are part of an outreach effort by the film’s producers to educate the viewing public about the intertwined interests of the gun industry and the NRA, and provide them with actions they can take to effect change.
The film focuses on gun violence survivors and victims’ families. So far, Brave New Films has held nearly 1,000 screenings around the country sponsored by churches, non-profits, businesses, schools, and individuals to build a call for gun control.
Global indie film distributor Gravitas Ventures will release the film November 1 on IVOD outlets including iTunes, Google Play, YouTube, Vudu, Amazon Video and across other platforms including AT&T U-verse, Directv, Dish Network, Cox, Charter on Demand, and Verizon/Fios.
