WATCH: The Daily Show Rips Time-Wasting Benghazi Charade

Video

Thursday's much-anticipated Clinton testimony in front of the House Committee investigating Benghazi was the colossal waste of time everyone was expecting. The 10-hour posture-fest solidified the image— already shared by 75% of Americans—that the Benghazi "investigation" is politically motivated and more about scoring points than finding the truth. In other words: it was perfect fodder for the "Daily Show" and its increasingly solid rookie host, Trevor Noah.

"I'm just saying," Noah said citing the seven previous Benghazi committees, "that maybe you're overdoing it when you have more sequels than The Fast and Furious." This hearing, headed by "football with human makeup on" Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, was mainly fishing for anything that would implicate Clinton in the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2012, but wound up just whining about former Clinton advisor Sidney Blumenthal, a longtime Clinton friend (who once hilariously called John Boehner "lazy" and an "alcoholic").

But it was Trey Gowdy who, according to Trey Gowdy, was the real victim, telling reporters that the attacks on his character were "a thousand times worse than anything you can do to anyone physically."

“Aw man, Gowdy,” Noah said. “That must be horrible, having your character and motives constantly attacked. But, hey, if you ever need to talk, I know someone who can empathize.” Noah then flashed a picture of Hillary Clinton on screen.
