VIDEO: Outgoing Texas Gov. Rick Perry Tells Jimmy Kimmel He's Always Packing Heat
Rick Perry, Texas Gov., and 2012 Presidential hopeful with some memory issues, has come back guns swinging—literally.
While appearing on the Jimmy Kimmel Show as part of the show’s South By Southwest location shoot (though why he was appearing on either Kimmel or at South By Southwest went curiously unmentioned), Perry made note of his proclivity to go most places with a gun in tow.
Kimmel asked Perry about the rumor that Perry jogs with a gun, to which Perry retorted, “I do interviews with a gun.”
“You have one of those armbands like you use for your iPod,” Kimmel joked.
“There’s a reason it’s called a concealed handguns license, you don’t know,” Perry retorted to a crowd that was almost positive he wasn’t kidding.
The banter marked a decidedly cheeky shift in tone after the Governor came on stage to a chorus of boos from the audience. When Kimmel asked later if the exiting Governor had any plans to run for the Presidency again come 2016, Perry was good natured.
“This is not the crowd I want to make this announcement to," he said.
Talk about a straight shooter.
