'New York City has fallen': MAGA suffers meltdown after 'democratic socialist' wins mayoral primary

A major upset occurred in New York City's Democratic mayoral primary when, on Tuesday night, June 24, progressive State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani defeated former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and other establishment Democrats he was running against.

Endorsed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vermont) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York), the 33-year-old Mamdani is a self-described "democratic socialist" and a Muslim who was born in Uganda but raised in New York City.

On X, formerly Twitter, far-right MAGA Republicans were quick to respond to Mamdani's victory and are freaking out in a major way.

Trump White House adviser Stephen Miller commented, "The commentary about NYC Democrats nominating an anarchist-socialist for Mayor omits one point: how unchecked migration fundamentally remade the NYC electorate. Democrats change politics by changing voters. That’s how you turn a city that defined US dominance into what it is now."

Tennessee-based Pastor Greg Locke, a far-right Christian nationalist and conspiracy theorist, tweeted, "NEW YORK CITY has fallen. The demonic sounds of Islamic prayer calls will soon be heard throughout the streets. The trash will pile higher than ever. Jews and Christians will be hated. Rape will skyrocket. NYC will be the next London."

Liberal former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann, in response to Locke's tweet, wrote, "So it'll now only be 100,000x better than Lebanon F------ Tennessee?"

X user and far-right Christian nationalist @UpEndItAll hopes that the Guardian Angels' Curtis Sliwa, running as a Republican, can defeat Mamdani in the general election.

@UpEndItAll posted, "Pray for Curtis Sliwa to win in November. He’s a good man, the Republican Momdani will run against."

Another MAGA X user, Freedom Fighter, wrote, "Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse."

Staten Island blogger Melissa Chapman-Mushnick posted, "Besides the fact that Mamdani is a rabid antisemite, he's also a socialist who hates law enforcement. He is here to destroy America from the inside out. Anyone who loves America, needs to vote against him. G-d Help Us!! G-d Bless America."

MAGA Republican Buddy Coleman tweeted, "Muslim wants to kill Christians Americans congratulations New York. You just elected your first Muslim mayor how ridiculous."
