Maryland Governor Wes Moore (D) blasted Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) Sunday in response to the 2024 GOP hopeful's recent insult on the city of Baltimore.

During an interview with MSNBC's Jen Psaki, Moore encouraged the Florida leader to consider visiting the state of Maryland before making assumptions.

"Another governor, Ron DeSantis, you may have heard of him, recently, made a comment — and I'm gonna paraphrase — that you're more likely to get shot than get a good education in Baltimore," Psaki said, asking the Democratic leader, "What do you have to say about that?"

Moore replied, "I think he should come spend some time in Baltimore, and frankly, I mean, he needs to worry about the fact that he's got some of his largest employers suing him. For him to use us as a punchline; use us as a talking point, it continues to show that we have these so-called leaders who do not have a plan. They have a playbook. The playbook is every single election cycle, make people scared, and then tell people you're the only one who can solve it, without a plan. I have not heard a single thing that he has proposed that's gonna make anyone in the city of Baltimore safe."

He continued, "Now what we're doing, is we're actually putting together policies that are making people safer. What we're doing is actually doing things like making sure we can get and keep these illegal guns out of our neighborhood. We're actually doing things. But if he wants to continue making Baltimore, or anywhere else, a talking point, the thing that I would recommend to him is this: Actually come spend time here because you might learn a little something about how you can fight violent crime."

Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, also on Sunday, blasted DeSantis and his fellow 2024 presidential candidates "who passively validate right-wing defenses of ex-President Donald Trump," despite 37-count criminal indictment.

The former governor told ABC News host Jonathan Karl, "It's absurd that candidates won't stand up and say that 'These are very serious charges, we need to take them seriously.' And you know, if you're not gonna challenge him, why challenge him?"
