Former chief of staff to Vice President Mike Pence Marc Short said Monday President Donald Trump will ultimately "be pressured into" releasing documents related to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
During an appearance on CNN, Short told host Kasie Hunt: "The only way it ends is for the president to release the files and to be transparent about it."
He continued: "I think we need to remember that when Trump came on the scene in 2016, I think what drove a lot of people to him was he advocated sort of a belief, 'I'm the outsider. I'm going to go clean up. Government is hiding things from the American people.' A lot of his supporters got behind that."
Short noted that it's not just Trump's supporters but his current Vice President J.D. Vance, his Attorney General Pam Bondi, and his FBI head Kash Patel who advocated for the release of the documents.
He added that, in essence, they said there’s a lot of nefarious information, and they’re going to get to the bottom of it and release it. "And the the arc narrative here is pretty remarkable to go from."
Short went on to say that the controversy will not end until Trump releases the files.
When the host asked him if he thinks Trump will actually do it, he said: "I think ultimately he'll be pressured into doing it, because I think the people will demand the transparency."
