During the annual Conservative Political Action Conference earlier this year, Donald Trump promised retribution on his rivals, saying, "For hard-working Americans, Nov. 5 will be our new Liberation Day. But for the liars, and cheaters, and fraudsters, and censors and imposters who have commandeered our government, it will be their Judgment Day."

That was not the first time Trump promised revenge. Politico's Ankush Khardori noted in a Thursday op-ed that last year, the former president vowed to "'appoint a real special prosecutor to go after the most corrupt president in the history of the United States of America, Joe Biden, and the entire Biden crime family,' along with everyone else involved with the destruction of our elections, our borders, and our country itself."

However, Khardori spoke with one devoted GOPer at the Republican National Convention this week who doubts Trump will follow through.

Bob Bever, a lawyer and delegate from Indiana, told the Politico writer, "I think our country has been too engaged in these political prosecutions, and the more we can do to diminish it, the better," but, "As for Trump’s proposed revenge tour, Bever said, 'I think he’ll take the same position that he did with Hillary Clinton that says, 'Let’s move on.'"

The attorney added, "I think a lot of that is political talk. I don’t think it would be a good idea."

Bever's sentiments echo Dr. Phil, who, speaking to Trump's retribution promise last month told CNN's Abby Phillip, "I think he’ll turn this over and over in his mind and I don’t think he will do that. To the extent that I have any opportunity to lead into this with him, I am going to relentlessly try and get him to not get him to do that."
