'Share this with your Black friends': Experts slam Trump’s claim that America was better in the 1700s

Donald Trump on Monday told a crowd of fans on Monday that US politics should to back to the way they are in the 1700s.
"I will invoke the alien enemy act of 1798. Think of that. 1798. That's when we had real politicians that said we're not gonna play games."
Several political experts, lawmakers and journalists immediately responded to the ex-president's remark.

Pennsylvania Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta said: "We are NOT going back."
Journalist Ahmed Baba commented: This is why We’re Not Going Back is the perfect answer to Make America Great Again. We know what kind of America Trump would like to force us back to. Voters now have an opportunity to definitively decide that we’re moving forward.
