President Donald Trump's return to the White House on January 20 marked a major change in U.S. policy on the Ukraine/Russia War. While former President Joe Biden was an aggressive supporter of military aid to Ukraine, Trump is pushing a "peace plan" and angrily berated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit to the White House.
Trump has defended Russian President Vladimir Putin on many occasions, but recently, he expressed frustration with him for a Russian military attack on Kyiv, Ukraine. And in a Tuesday morning, May 27 post on his Truth Social platform, Trump posted, "What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He’s playing with fire!"
Trump's post is receiving a lot of responses on the Elon Musk-owned X, formerly Twitter.
