'Star Trek' actor rips Ron DeSantis for Trump endorsement: 'These people aren’t serious'
Election 2024

Only two candidates — frontrunner Donald Trump and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley — were left in the 2024 GOP presidential primary when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced, on Sunday, January 21, that he was dropping out of the race. DeSantis endorsed Trump, joining Sen. Tim Scott (R-South Carolina), Vivek Ramaswamy, and other ex-primary candidates who are now supporting the former president.

Actor Wilson Cruz, best known for his work on "Star Trek: Discovery," was quick to respond to DeSantis' announcement on X, formerly Twitter. And he wasn't shy about expressing his disdain for the Florida governor.

Cruz tweeted, "Even his dumb a** know he's going to lose BIGLY and in his delusional mind, it clears the way for him in 2028. These people aren't serious."

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?

Cruz wasn't the only X user who slammed DeSantis for his Trump endorsement.

Republicans Against Trump tweeted, "The fact that you immediately endorsed Trump is a reminder of why you never had a chance. You ran as a Trump 2.0 instead of presenting an alternative to the corrupt former president."

Far-right MAGA Republican, Trump supporter and conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer taunted DeSantis, tweeting, "LOOMERED! @RonDeSantis has officially dropped out of the 2024 Presidential race!!! He looks like he wants to cry in his video! HE IS DEFINISHED!!!! WE DID IT!!! #Trump2024."

Iowa-based Democratic activist Ashley Kuckelman tweeted, "Ron 'Never Back Down' just backed all the way down and then he endorsed a criminal rapist. Good riddance!"
