Trump Manages to Blame Obama And AG Sessions in Rambling Explanation of Cohen’s Guilty Plea

Donald Trump on Wednesday admitted to knowing about Michael Cohen’s campaign-era “hush money” payments to his former alleged mistresses “later on,” despite his former personal attorney on Tuesday telling a court that then-candidate Trump personally directed him to facilitate the transactions.

Speaking with Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt, Trump said he knew about the payments, but argued it’s a “much bigger thing” that the money for the payments did come from his “campaign finance.”

“They didn’t come out of the campaign, they came from me,” Trump said. “And I tweeted about it, I mean I don’t know if you know but I tweeted about the payments. But they didn’t come out of campaign. In fact, my first question when I heard about it, was: Did they come out of the campaign? Because the could be a little dicey. And they didn't come out of the campaign and that’s fake.”

Trump went on to explain why it’s “not even a campaign violation,” turning his sights on former President Barack Obama, whom he claimed has a “massive” campaign violation. But he had a different attorney general and they viewed things differently.”
