Less than 24 hours after special counsel Jack Smith urged the US Supreme Court against delaying Donald Trump's immunity case, the former president pitched the the high court once more Thursday in an effort to pause the trial, according to CNN.

Politico's Kyle Cheney shared Trump's "17-page reply to SCOTUS" via X (formerly Twitter), which suggests Smith's "argument creates the appearance of partisanship."

The MAGA hopeful's attorneys wrote, “There are overwhelming reasons why the case should not go to trial 'in three months or less.' With any other defendant, it would be virtually unthinkable for the case to go to trial so soon, and 'wildly unfair' to do so."

In Smith's Wednesday, February 14 filing, he wrote, "Delay in the resolution of these charges threatens to frustrate the public interest in a speedy and fair verdict — a compelling interest in every criminal case and one that has unique national importance here." He also emphasized the case "involves federal criminal charges against a former president for alleged criminal efforts to overturn the results of the presidential election, including through the use of official power."

Trump's latest attempt to delay comes after he asked the Supreme Court Monday to smack down a DC Circuit Court's decision to reject his claims of immunity from prosecution over election interference.

The Supreme Court is expected to make its ruling this month.
