In Ashburn, Virginia, the local headquarters for GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump's 2024 campaign recently became the target of a burglary.

On Monday, August 12, the Loudoun County, Virginia Sheriff's Office announced that it is looking for the man seen in surveillance camera footage.

According to ABC News' Leah Sarnoff, "Sheriff's deputies said they were alerted to the break-in at approximately 9:00 p.m. ET, but the suspect was gone before officials arrived on the scene. Surveillance video provided by officials showed the suspect — an adult male — wearing dark clothing, a dark cap and a backpack."

Sarnoff notes that the "investigation is ongoing" and that the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office "did not indicate if anything was taken or left at the scene."

In an August 12 press release, Sheriff Mike Chapman said, "It is rare to have the office of any political campaign or party broken into. We are determined to identify the suspect, investigate why it happened, and determine what may have been taken as well as what may have been left behind."

The office that was broken into also serves as GOP headquarters for Virginia's 10th Congressional District, which Democrat Jennifer Wexton presently represents in the U.S. House of Representatives.
