President Donald Trump has reportedly ordered his official portrait in the White House be printed with a golden border so it would catch the light and "glimmer."

According to a report published in the Wall Street Journal Wednesday, the Government Publishing Office, which is responsible for printing the official presidential portraits, was told that Trump wanted his portrait to glimmer.

The WSJ quoted an administration official, who was not named, as confirming that the White House asked that Trump’s portrait, along with Vice President’s JD Vance’s, be printed with a golden border.

"The reprint required metallic gold ink and a specialized printer. And it delayed the completion of the portraits, some of which had already been printed with a more understated white border, according to an internal government document outlining the request," the report claimed.

Trump is being assisted by a "gold guy," a man he brought for the White House makeover, per the article.

"Those who have visited Mar-a-Lago say the gold touches in the White House look familiar. The Florida club is awash in gold, with the color covering nearly every ceiling, wall, picture frame and desk. The original designer, Joseph Urban, designed opera sets and took inspiration from the grand palaces of Europe," the report said.

Trump is said to have personally overseen the installation of the gold carvings on the mantel in the Oval Office. Gold cherubs from Mar-a-Lago were also installed in the White House, per the report.

"Prominently displayed next to the Resolute Desk is a large gold FIFA World Cup trophy. Seven gold vases and urns decorate the mantle. During the Biden administration and the first Trump administration, the mantle was adorned with plants," the WSJ said.

According to a recent visitor, whose identity was not disclosed in the repot, Trump has mounted a gold crest bearing his name above the entrance to the White House from the colonnade. Gold coasters featuring his name can also be found on side tables in the Oval Office.

Trump's love of gold is well-documented. Foreign leaders have presented him with gold-themed items. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gifted Trump a gold pager during his visit to the United States in February, referencing Israel's assault on Hezbollah last year with explosive electronic devices. Similarly, in the same month, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba presented Trump with a gold samurai helmet.
