Three-time Trump swing state voter 'very let down' by the president

Voters in swing-state Pennsylvania are frustrated and looking to contain President Donald Trump’s policies in the mid-terms, reports CNN’s John King in Friday’s edition of “All Over the Map.”
Lehigh Valley credit Restoration CEO Jenique Jones is a three-time Trump voter who told King she’s had it with the president’s empty promises, especially considering the terrible economic news she keeps getting from her customers.
“‘My husband lost all of his overtime. My kid's daycare went up. I can't afford the cost of food. I’m using credit cards for everyday expenses. No money left after their bills are paid. Pretty much just a whole bunch of financial mess,” said Jones, repeating customers’ stories.
When asked if Trump had fixed the nation’s economic problems, Jones said: “Absolutely not.”
“I'm definitely waiting for him to fix it,” she added. “I'm very let down by that. Very let down because I feel like it's only gotten worse.”
John and Lisa Ronca, who own a Pennsylvania bicycle shop, get their health insurance through the Obamacare exchange and their renewal letter just came.
“It's going to be triple this year, which equates to double the cost of what we pay for our mortgage for our house,” said Lisa Ronca, “so, we can't keep that plan, to say the least.”
“Every, like, two to three months we get letters from [our suppliers] saying ‘we got to increase. We're having a 10 percent increase, another 10 percent increase.’ And it just keeps escalating,” said John Ronca. “
“A 20-inch single-speed kid’s bike was $250, which is still decently high, but went up to $400 just in the last couple of months, so it's kind of tough. I don't know how many kids’ bikes are going in for Christmas,” said Lisa Ronca. “I mean, who's going to spend from $250 to $400 in a couple of months?”
Both slam Trump’s claim that prices are down right now.
“He doesn't go food shopping,” said Lisa Ronco.
“To me, I'm going to vote for the person who puts a check on him, … who's going to rein in the president,” said John Ronco.
King reports this particular Pennsylvania's county has served as “a bellwether … known for picking winners.”
“The winner here in Northampton County has gone on to win statewide and win the White House in the last five presidential elections and in 29 of the 32 presidential elections dating back to 1900,” King said. “Trump's win here in 2024 also helped flip Pennsylvania's seventh congressional district from blue to red.”
“The margin in that House race was just 4,000 votes,” Kind added. “And, so, with affordability as Issue No. 1, Democrats have this district high on the target list as they try to retake the House in next year's midterms.”
