Rep. Daniel Goldman (D-N.Y.) stated Wednesday Congress is making it easier for the Trump administration to defy court orders — something the lawmaker said "they are increasingly doing with more aggression and more brazenness."
During an appearance on CNN Wednesday, Goldman told host Anderson Cooper that President Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill" has a section that will hamstring the federal judiciary.
"In this bill that the Republicans are trying to ram through in the dead of night, there is a clause. There's a section of the bill that will make it harder for federal courts to enforce contempt orders," Goldman said.

Following a deportation flight carrying eight migrants that departed Texas this week — reportedly bound for South Sudan — a federal judge ruled on Wednesday that the Trump administration had breached a prior court order.
During a hearing, U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy in Massachusetts stated that the administration did not comply with a March injunction prohibiting the removal of individuals to third countries without first giving them a chance to express concerns about potential persecution or torture.
In his comments to CNN, Goldman said that according to the federal court, the administration is not following due process. "And by the way, that's what all the courts have been saying," Goldman said.
He added that the Supreme Court also called for due process to be upheld in the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man deported to El Salvador.

Goldman continued: "All anybody is talking about here is due process. That is a fundamental right in this country, and it is bestowed upon any person that is in this country. And for some reason, Donald Trump and the Trump administration do not think that due process applies."
The New York Democrat called on his GOP colleagues in Congress to condemn the administration's defiance of courts.
"Ultimately, the Supreme Court is going to have to lay down the hammer. And my House Republican and Senate Republican colleagues are going to have to speak up for the rule of law," he said.
