MAGA Republicans are bitterly divided over U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case.

Bondi said that there is no Epstein-related "client list," and she considers the matter closed. But while Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino is threatening to resign from his position if Bondi doesn't resign from hers, Trump is adamantly sticking by the U.S. attorney general. And Trump is not only urging MAGA Republicans to move on from Epstein — he is accusing them of being "duped by Democrats."

In a Thursday morning, July 17 post on X, formerly Twitter, Never Trump conservative Matt Lewis argued that Trump's physical appearance and MAGA infighting are "loosely connected."

Lewis, an opinion columnist for The Hill known for his appearances on MSNBC, made that argument in response to a tweet from the Emergency Workplace Organizing's Committee's (EWOC) Sarah Kobos.

Kobos tweeted a photo of Trump's hand, posting, "this is the worst ive seen the makeup on [T]rumps hand. you can see it on live tv right now it's so bad it looks like a patch."

Lewis, in response to Kobos' post, commented, "I'm starting to think this story (Trump's appearance) and the civil war over Epstein are at least loosely connected. There is a growing sense among some ambitious MAGA influencers that Trump is old, he's (now) the 'establishment,” and he's also a lame duck."

X user Dennis Chavante weighed in on Lewis' tweet, writing, "Unfortunately for them, no one has ever voted for (or ever will vote for) 'MAGA influencers.' They may fancy themselves kingmakers, but all their tantrums are liable to accomplish is helping electing Kamala (or worse) President in 2028."

Another X user, Biscuit Salad, wrote, "He is old, and any pretense that the two term president with a decade-long death grip on his party isn't 'the establishment' gets more hilarious every day."
