President Donald Trump escalated his verbal attacks on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio‑Cortez (D-N.Y.) Monday, questioning her intelligence and calling for both her and Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) to take IQ tests. He justified his challenge to the Democratic congresswomen by citing his own high score from a cognitive exam.
Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Trump said, “AOC – look. I think she's very nice. But she's very low IQ, and we really don't need low IQ."
He continued: "Between her and Crockett, we're gonna give 'em both an IQ test to see who comes out best. I took a real test at Walter Reed medical center and I aced it. Now it's time for them to take a test.”

Trump was referencing his April Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), for which his doctor’s memo reported a perfect score of 30/30. The MoCA is a brief screening tool used to detect early cognitive impairment or dementia — it is not an IQ test.
It is not publicly known if Trump ever took an actual IQ test.
In April, Trump told reporters, "I took a cognitive test. And I don't know what to tell you, other than I got every answer right."
"I took just a lot of different tests, having to do with the heart, having to do with other things," he added.
The president's Tuesday remarks were mocked on social media.

Journalist Nick Field wrote on the social platform X: "Trump conflating a competency test with an IQ test. Also, worth pointing out that Trump is always most obsessed with IQ when he's talking about women of color."
"Trump confusing a dementia screening test with an IQ test is a good indicator of how he’d score on both," wrote a user.
"Omg. He didn't just call his cognitive test an IQ test!" said another user on X.
Another user wrote: "AOC graduated cum laude with duel-degrees in economics and international relations.
Crockett has a law degree and passed the bar. Calling them low IQ is laughable."
