'Fascist dystopia': Experts slam ex-Trump aide’s claim Walz will 'turn Midwest into Mogadishu'

Former Donald Trump senior adviser Stephen Miller made baseless claims about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz's record on immigration during an interview with Fox News Tuesday.
"He is the biggest booster in the whole country for unlimited refugee resettlement," Miller, who helped to shape the Trump administration's immigration policies, said. "That means under the Harris/Walz plan, they’re going to turn the entire Midwest into Mogadishu."
Miller added, "That's their plan. That's their policy. I don't think there's a market for that in the United States of America."

Responding to a video of the interview on social media, MSNBC's Katie Phang replied: "Wut?"
USA Today columnist Rex Huppke replied: GOOD MESSAGING! DEFINITELY GO WITH THIS, PERSON WHO FOR SURE DOESN'T HAVE AN ATTIC FULL OF EXTREMELY CREEPY DOLLS!

Last June, Vanity Fair noted that Miller "was the architect of the Trump administration’s family-separation plan," managed "a program in which literal infants were taken from their parents, a policy the president of the American Academy of Pediatrics said amounted to 'government-sanctioned child abuse'," and was even "said to 'actually enjoy' seeing photos of families being separated at the border."
Furthermore, earlier this year, Axios reported that if Trump wins the White House in November, Miller plans to head a program that would "focus on 'anti-white racism' rather than discrimination against people of color."
