'Very humbling': Giuliani selling $6.5 million Manhattan condo as legal and financial problems mount

Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani was one hailed as a Republican who had considerable crossover appeal and could win elections even in a city as Democratic as the Big Apple. But these days, Giuliani is identified with the far-right MAGA movement and his efforts to help Donald Trump overturn the 2020 presidential election results. And he is among Trump's co-defendants in Fulton County, Georgia Fani Willis' sweeping prosecution.
Giuliani's legal problems, according to The Guardian, are taking their toll on him financially. And The Guardian's Martin Pengelly reports that Giuliani is selling his condo on Manhattan's Upper East Side for $6.5 million.
Pengelly quotes attorney Adam Katz as saying, "There are a lot of bills that he's not paying. From a $57,000 phone bill to significantly more. I think that this is very humbling for Mr. Giuliani."
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?
The condo has been on the market since July, according to Pengelly.
The Guardian reporter notes, "In 2015 and 2016, when Donald Trump entered the Republican ring, Giuliani became his supporter, aide and attorney. After Trump became president, Giuliani's work in Ukraine, seeking dirt on political rivals, fueled the first of two impeachments. After the 2020 election, Giuliani's work to overturn Trump’s defeat contributed to his own mounting legal bills and problems. That work is now the subject of criminal charges in Georgia, for racketeering and conspiracy.
