With Donald Trump now more than three months into his second presidency, his cheerleaders in MAGA media outlets are praising his "record of accomplishment" — while his critics are arguing that he is inflicting severe damage on the United States, from the economy to civil liberties to the rule of law.

Former GOP strategist and Never Trump conservative Rick Wilson, in a video released by The Lincoln Project (a conservative anti-Trump group) on Friday, April 25, stresses that opposition to Trump is growing, not subsiding.

"This week's elephant in the room is that the numbers don't lie," Wilson tells viewers. "Today, folk, the elephant in the room — the big thing that's hovering out there now over this very consequential first 100 days of Trump — is that America is pi---d. They're really unhappy."

Wilson cites some recent approval numbers in polls, including 40 percent from Pew Research poll, 42 percent from Ipsos, 41 percent from YouGov, and 45 percent from Gallup. And a Reuters/Ipsos polls found on handling the economy, Trump's approval is down to 37 percent.

Wilson explains, "What we have now is a systemic collapse happening across every public poll that we're seeing of Trump's approval ratings…. We're seeing it in the specific jobs areas at a cataclysmic falloff. One of the worst areas is the economy….. Even the Fox News polls has a 56 percent disapproval on Trump's handling of the economy."

Wilson noted that Trump "wants to kept the subject on immigration" but "is at 48 percent disapproval of his handling of immigration."

"I think it's important for you to remember that the illusion of political invulnerability with Trump comes from the idea that people trust him on the economy — that people believe his leadership is strong, that he is a good negotiator," the former GOP strategist argues. "How is that working out anywhere across any spectrum of any of the things that are going on? It's not…. Trump continues to do the things that will cause these numbers to go down…. Markets like three things, as I've said before."

Wilson continued, "They like certainty. They like to know what's going to happen…. They like predictability…. And they like the rule of law…. None of these are happening with Trump."
